Similar to ‘’thanks for your patience’’, this phrase is also very useful to add in your announcements in all sorts of situations where passengers are inconvenienced: The flight is delayed because of weather. The flight is cancelled because of a mechanical issue. The entertainment system needs to be restarted. Your departure is delayed because of catering or fuel or connecting passengers, etc.
Instead of “merci pour votre compréhension’’, you’ll also hear “merci de votre compréhension.
