English: To restart the service

French: Recommencer le service

After pausing the service because of turbulence, it’s nice to announce to passengers that you’ve suspended the service because of the turbulence. It’s also good to announce to them that you’ll restart the service after the turbulence has passed.

On shorter flights, or if you’ve had to suspend a service that’s scheduled shortly before you start descent, you may not have time to restart the service before landing.

Commencer=To start, to commence

Recommencer=To restart

Le service (m)=The service

Flight Attendant Souvenirs. Souvenirs d’un agent de bord. United Arab Emirates, February 2020. Émirats Arabes Unis, février 2020. Finishing off my UAE trip, I flew back from the Abu Dhabi airport (AUH). Airline employees will know the trials and tribulations of standby travel, but this time, I lucked out. I stood by for Business Class on Etihad Airways and got it. The food, wine, and amenities were all great but for a flight that’s almost 14 hours long, it’s just so nice to have the extra space. When flying for leisure, I usually try to stay awake for the entire flight when flying from back from Europe or the Middle East, but this time, I couldn’t resist taking a nap on the lie-flat bed.
